Just over ten years ago, I lost my marbles...
I mean, one moment I had them, the next I had this distinct feeling that all of my marbles, were gone... My entire world was turned upside down, ransacked and marbles found missing!

Shortly after that mind-altering epiphany, my husband and I were walking along the beach on a dark, half-moon lit night when I had the sudden urge to bend down and scoop up the handful of sand at my feet. There, in my hand was a beautiful, dark sienna marble... The first of many marbles I've collected since.

I may not have the same collection of marbles as I had before, but I am fairly certain that the new collection will serve me well and will offer me a different insight and perspective into the world and those around me...

A New Chapter-the Wedding : Where has the time gone, first child of my heart? I am sure, that it was only a short breath ago that you were a baby, tucked in tightly beneath my ribs. Then in a turn of a day, you were walking, chattering, and before I knew it, rushing out the door, to school. I remember so well, when we all discovered your voice. The voice of an angel, amid the rushing of wings. You would open your mouth to sing, and everyone would stop, to listen… I know you have regrets at my stopping your chance to sing in NY, but I was so afraid to lose you… To set you loose among the wolves, you were still a child… Then you went on to graduate High School, not a day went by when you didn't make me so proud to call you "my daughter." You rushed into adulthood, with all the fervor you put into anything that you did, and became an amazing Stylist! Still, I know that somewhere, just below the surface, you still long to set your voice free… You married once, (what seems like a lifetime ago…) and became a wonderful Mom, to the most incredible son, Brady, our grandson… And continued to make us proud, even as the floor began to slip beneath you, and your life changed… Still you moved forward… Never looking back, or showing self-pity. Then a short time later, you met Jon, and your life changed yet again… Jon has stood behind you, watching your back, treating you with the kindness you have always offered to others, becoming "one of the family." And… in time… Jon asked you to become his wife, to be the co-support to his daughter, to become his lover, soulmate, friend of the heart… To become another member of your "crazy-often-over-the-top, family." It's been a long journey… One you have so looked forward to, and I, as your Maman am standing here, slightly behind you, with a hand pressed lightly to the small of your back, ready to let you move forward into this new life, to watch you grow with this man, watching you from the sidelines, to cheer you on. You were a beautiful bride… You are an fantastic Mom… I have no doubt you will be an amazing wife to a man who I am sure will be a great, husband. I love you… maman
